Grown mostly in tropical regions like Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Kerala, and Maharashtra, pineapple plants thrive in warm, humid climates and well-drained red or loamy soil. Farmers don’t grow them from seeds; instead, they use crowns and suckers from mature fruits to plant new ones. With the right balance of natural rainwater, careful weeding, and organic fertilizers, these small plants grow into lush greenery. After 12 to 15 months, the plants bloom with purple-blue flowers that slowly combine into the fruit we all love. By 18 to 20 months, the pineapples are ripe, golden, and ready to cut.
