This is part 2 of building a lowback stick chair where I shape/taper the legs and begin working on the stretchers for the undercarriage. In part 3 I'll pick back up with the seat joinery to join the legs to the seat.
I've been wanting to start building chairs for some time, but was a little intimidated by it. I probably don't have quite all of the right tools or maybe skills for the job, but figured it was time to give it a go and figure it all out by doing! Hope you enjoy following along with the process, I'm tremendously enjoying the build and trying to document it.
I'm following along with the techniques and methods laid out in The Stick Chair Book by Christopher Schwartz and published by @lostartpress (https://lostartpress.com/products/the.... My chair will be based (loosely if my history of being incapable of following any sort of plans is anything to go by) on the low back stick chair described on page 465.
