Half-Life: Opposing Force [Build 1083] - October 12th, 1999

This is the very first build that was made on October 12th, 1999 but released on November 19th, 1999 that features the pre-Steam or WON version. It was based on the updated version of the base game, running at version 1.0.1.5.. Valve would make frequent updates for this and their other games in later years through Steam to ensure full compatibility for new computers. This version was intended to run on Windows 98, so the game would not detect the disc properly on modern operating systems even though users owned the original legitimate copy. Thus, a hack is required to bypass this issue in order to experience the first official release of Half-Life: Opposing Force.

Recording Source:
VGA to HDMI to USB Capture Device with the use of OBS Studio.
(The VGA was connected through my Windows XP machine where it was converted through a HDMI cable and connected into the capture device where OBS would display.)

The video was recorded in 1280x960 and was compiled and edited into a 1080p 4x3 MP4 video using Sony Vegas 10.

Gameplay was recorded on June 29-30, July 14th, 20-21 and 28th, 2025.
