Before the Age of Men, before the great wars of Middle-earth, there was a being born of fire, brilliance and incomparable craft. In this video we answer the question: Who was the strongest Elf ever born? We focus on Fëanor — the Flame-Spirit, the master craftsman of the Noldor, creator of the Silmarils, and bearer of a power so great that even the Valar watched in awe. We trace his origins, his unmatched skill “in all parts of body and mind,” and the tragic legacy his strength unleashed. We then compare him with Fingolfin — described as “the strongest, the most steadfast, the most valiant,” to uncover what “strength” truly meant in Tolkien’s mythic framework. In doing so we explore how greatness is measured: by skill, valor, endurance or moral purpose.
