Talk about some awesome extreme sports entertainment. It was last year in October when I found out that Monster Jam was coming to a city near us. The Moda Center in Portland Oregon did not disappoint. Here’s some rad facts about Monster Jam trucks. The average weight of one of the trucks is 12,000 pounds with a staggering height of 10.5 ft tall, 12.5 ft wide, and 17.5 ft long. A Monster Jam engine will generate 1,500 horsepower, thanks to a supercharger that forces air and fuel into the engine. One of the most iconic Monster Trucks Grave Digger. The Grave Digger monster truck was created in 1982 by Dennis Anderson. Anderson built the truck from a 1952 Ford pickup and parts he found in junkyards. The truck's name came from a threat Anderson made to a fellow racer who was mocking his truck. The truck I think of besides Grave Digger the truck that really started it all Bigfoot. The Bigfoot monster truck began as a 1974 Ford F-250 pickup truck modified by Bob Chandler. Chandler's modifications made it the first monster truck, and the Bigfoot name is still used today. Throughout the years there’s been many Monster Trucks to come along. El Toro Loco, Dragon, Earth Shaker, Max-D, Kraken, Megalodon, Scooby-Doo and a new truck Sparkle Smash plus many other new trucks.
Check out the controlled chaos from these methanol-fueled Monsters.
I’ve added a link to Monster Jam’s remaining tour dates below. Like, Subscribe, Leave a comment or two. Heck Yeah Man! MONSTER TRUCKS!!
