GREENLAND ARCTIC CONFLICT — LIVE BREAKING COVERAGE 🌍

The battle over Greenland’s future has reached a new peak as U.S. President Donald Trump threatens tariffs on countries that do not back his controversial plan to take control of the huge Arctic island — a self-governing territory of Denmark. Trump claims Greenland is vital to U.S. national security and suggests economic pressure against sceptical allies.

At the same time, European troops from NATO partners — including France, Germany, the UK, Sweden and others — have begun arriving in Greenland under Operation Arctic Endurance to bolster Arctic security and support Danish sovereignty in the face of rising tensions with Washington.

Denmark has stressed that Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark, belongs to Denmark and NATO, and is not up for sale or takeover, as reinforced by its Prime Minister and Greenlandic leadership.
