In this episode, we cover a lot of ground, literally, with a post operations review of the Hiawatha Elevator District in South Minneapolis. Looking at what worked and what did not. As well as take a trip down weathering lane, reviewing the steps taken to weather a Scale Trains 4180 Airslide. With yellow being a tough color to tame, we walk through the layers of methods it took to get there.
Outside of the weathering and layout operations, we dabble a little more in JMRI to touch on how to edit the reporting marks in mass and look specifically at the file used to create the line drawing on the switchlist.
We find ourselves touring one of the largest club layouts in the Twin Cities Metro Area, the NMMRC (North Metro Model Railroad Club). A few members welcomed us at their open house and let us take in, the progress they have made on the railroad. We see the ScaleTrains SDL39's for the first time in person. This railroad is beyond impressive and well worth the time to checkout or JOIN (if you're looking for a great community of modelers in the Twin Cities - Metro Area)).
All of this and more, only in this episode of SOO The Milwaukee Road.
