We still smile thinking about this trip. We flew into Kalispell, picked up a rental car, and immediately drove through Glacier National Park, letting the mountains slowly welcome us as we made our way to Many Glacier. For two nights, Many Glacier Hotel felt like stepping into another era—quiet mornings, crisp air, and views that never got old.
One of our favorite days was walking along Swiftcurrent Lake to Josephine Lake, then taking the ferry back across the water. As if the scenery wasn’t enough, we were lucky enough to encounter a deer, and spot a bear and a moose and her calf along the way—moments that felt unreal and unforgettable.
After leaving Many Glacier, we drove the iconic Going-to-the-Sun Road, stopping often just to take it all in. We spent the rest of our stay at Village Inn at Apgar, where the view right outside our beachfront motel room was pure magic, especially in the quiet evenings.
We hiked to the Hidden Lake Overlook at Logan Pass, and later made our way to Avalanche Lake, where Mimi spotted a bear on the far side of the lake—a moment we still talk about.
It was one of those trips that stays with you long after you’ve unpacked. Beautiful, grounding, and full of quiet awe. We hope we get to return one day.
