LIFE LESSONS IN KHUMAI/KORCHAN TREK

Sometimes, the best adventures are the ones we never plan! Just two days before, we decided to take on the Khumai Danda & Korchan trek after hearing about fresh snowfall. What we thought would be an easy 2-day trek turned into one of the hardest and most humbling experiences of our lives.

Khumai Danda, situated at 3245 meters above sea level, earns its name as the ridge providing breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Machhapuchhre ranges nestled within the lush forests of Lower Kaski, encircled by majestic mountains. Khumai Danda, Kaski falls within the boundaries of the Annapurna Conservation Area in the Machhapuchhre rural municipality of Kaski.

🚶‍♂️ We’ve conquered Thorang La, Tilicho, Annapurna Base Camp, Gosaikunda...., but this trek taught us a valuable lesson—never underestimate nature. The downhill descent tested our limits as knee pain hit both of us at the exact same moment, turning an easy return into an exhausting battle.

🌅 Was it worth it? Absolutely. The breathtaking sunrise over the Annapurna range and the sheer joy of reaching the jeep at the base made every struggle worth it.
