HUGE TORQUE from OM606 breaks diffs and axles! TRACK DAY TESTING!

SO MUCH POWER!!!! From a stock OM606 with huge BorgWarner turbo!

Alright last week we broke the stock 190D differential so we got a stronger differential from a W201 e300, build new driveshaft and shortened the rear axles on our OM606 Mercedes drag car. Took the car 3.5 hours away from home to a racetrack to do some more testing. We are trying to set up our 722.6 out of a SL55-AMG to shift automatically at the right time. So first pass left the transmission in auto, as the car took of it shifted way to early at around 2.5 - 3k rpm going very slow and not letting turbo spool up. Put it into manual mode downshifted and went 108 mph at over 17 seconds 1/4 mile. We were excited to see the car gain so much speed after going very slowly halfway down the track. Then we decide to try a different method of shifting to see how that works. It was a nice day for test and tune since there was very little people at the racetrack so we were planning to do lots of runs to dial in the transmission shifting. As we pull up to the strip there was no one else so we were happy we can get a good video with sound of just our OM606 going down the track. Daniel does a burnout and we hear a slight bang but had no idea what that was so we continue on. As the light turns green the car start going but sometimes seems off and the method of shifting was terrible, not responding to what we were telling it to do. But then a loud knocking sound starts and it was the of our test day because we didn't have time to prepare spare axle shafts as the one's we made failed. So we just packed up and went home a 3.5 hour drive after only 1.5 terrible runs down the track.

Our setup is a stock OM606 with DPUK street performance valve springs, DPUK 8.5mm SuperFloyd injection pump BorgWarner S364.5 turbo, Kangaroos team exhaust manifold, custom water to air intercooler from silicone intakes. Transmission is a 722.6 out of a SL55-AMG with a OF Gear controller. Also very nice Mickey Thompson street e/t tires.
