Allison Sheridan interviews Mikael Vikman Sunna, CEO of Index Braille about the affordable braille printers. Index Braille offers a full line of braille printers ranging from small and portable to full-size and high-speed embossers for production use.
The Basic-D V5 is a portable tractor-fed braille embosser weighing 16.7 lbs. It handles double-sided braille and prints at 140 characters per second. It has a control panel that is labeled with braille and text.
At the other end of the scale is the FanFold-D V5, one of the most quiet high-speed embossers in the industry. It achieves low-noise operation using a closed hood that covers the embossing module and paper handler. This floor-standing model prints at 330 characters per second, holds 1000 braille papers, and prints continuously for large-scale production.
