It's January 11, 1955, and a group of railfans led by famed photographer O. Winston Link took a trip on the Norfolk & Western's famed Abingdon Branch to catch the last hours of steam in the United States. They would chase a local freight train led by N&W 4-8-0 M Class #429 from Nella, NC to Blacksburg, VA. Or so it would seem... The true story of this video is a photo charter held in conjunction with Dynamo Productions and the Strasburg Rail Road with sister M Class #475 recreating scenes that were once so common in many of O. Winston Link's journeys on the N&W Abingdon Branch. Join us as we take you back in time to witness what O. Winston Link would've seen as he caught this night train on the "Abingdon Branch" along the Road to Paradise. Don't forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe if you enjoyed this video.
