This was one of the most emotional and special days of our entire Thailand trip. In this vlog, we’re taking you to KANTA Elephant Sanctuary in Chiang Mai — a place that truly stole our hearts.
We spent a lot of time researching before booking because it was really important to us to visit an ethical sanctuary where the elephants are respected, cared for, and allowed to just be elephants. No riding, no tricks — just feeding, bathing, learning their stories, and spending time with the most gentle animals we’ve ever encountered.
Honestly, there were moments during this day where we were both close to tears. Seeing these elephants so calm, cared for, and free was something we’ll never forget.
If you’re travelling to Chiang Mai and thinking about visiting an elephant sanctuary, we can’t recommend KANTA enough. This experience will stay with us forever.
