Hi Friends! In this tutorial, I walk you through the step-by-step easy process to elevate a pair of basic flip flops by adding crochet to the foot strap! Once you learn the steps, it can be done on any pair of basic style flip flops regardless of size, yarn weight, fiber type. In this tutorial, though, I am using flip flops that I purchased from The Dollar Tree for cheap CHEAP!!!
Comment below... Have you ever added crochet to a purchased item before? What did you make?
Here is the full list of supplies you will need to make these flip flops:
Basic Flip Flops (any size) - You can find these at dollar stores, Amazon, Old Navy or other retailers that release them seasonally, maybe you already own a pair - that's perfect!
Yarn: I used worsted (4 wt.) I Love This Cotton and Pima Suprema from Hobby Lobby, but you need very little in each color! You will make a total of 7 seven rows of crochet, so use up some scraps by all means!
Hook: For my yarn, I used a 4.00mm US 6G crochet hook by Susan Bates. This is smaller than what the yarn label recommends, because I want my stitches to be fairly tight (cotton tends to stretch quite a bit).
Other needs: Scissors, Yarn Needle for weaving, and a little glue or fray stop (optional - explained in the video)
