The poet Pradeep Kumar Rai, aka Byakul Maila, wrote the lyrics for Sayaun Thunga Phool Ka Hami. The late Amber Gurung composed the music. The national song, "Sayaun Thunga Phool Ka Hami," is succinctly phrased, extolling Nepal's sovereignty, unity, courage, pride, scenic beauty, progress, peace, cultural and biological diversity, and mutual respect.
