"Let it Breathe" is a wound care myth!
When wounds are left to dry out a scab forms, a build up of exudate and blood excreted by the wound that hardens and creates a barrier to healing.
What we want is a moist environment for wound healing and an appropriate dressing that manages the exudate.
If we can create a moist environment then we can create the optimal set up for cellular proliferation and the organized deposition of collagen to complete the healing process.
