Screen Room Chemicals

Review the important chemicals needed in your screen printing screen room. Mesh degreasers, ink degradants, and stencil removers are all important chemicals to keep stocked in your screen room.

The screen printing frame cycle during the printing process is an important process. It starts with degreasing your screen to wash away any dirt particles or oil, and creates a clean surface for your screen printing emulsion to adhere to. We recommend our MD-100 Mesh Degreaser. It is easy to use. Simply spray both sides of your screen, scrub, and power wash the screen. MD-100 is drain safe. After this process, let your screen dry and then apply emulsion.

You want to scrub off the remaining ink and emulsion so you can use your screen frame again. Using an ink degradant, emulsion remover, and a haze remover if need be, apply the chemicals and wash your screen. It is best to use a high pressure washer for reclaiming. Alternatively, you can use a dip-tank and all you will need to do is wash away the ink and emulsion.

Ink degradants are used to remove plastisol ink from the screen. LSP ID-701 Ultra Wash is a low odor solvent made to dissolve all types of inks. It is fast-acting and is even a mild stain remover.

This textile and graphic ink degradant is drain safe and works well on plastisol, UV, enamel, lacquer, and vinyl inks. When finished, use SR-45 Screen Printing Stencil Remover to remove emulsion and makes the screen frame reusable. SR-45 can be diluted or used straight from the bottle. Let the chemical stay on the frame for about 30 seconds on both sides before spraying out. Wash the screen from the bottom up.
