Ukraine’s Eurovision 2025 act Ziferblat consists of twin brothers Danyil and Valentin Leshchynsky and drummer Fedir Khodakoff. In our English-language interview, they tell us about their song “Bird of Pray,” which speaks to Ukrainians’ feelings of separation and loss and emotions amid an ongoing war. They also discuss their vocalist Khrystyna Starykova, whose home was destroyed by Russian shelling in the city of Myrnograd.
The also discuss their efforts to raise UAH 4 million (or roughly €93,000) to purchase four “ZMII” robotic demining systems.

They are collaborating with Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation and Ukrainian public broadcaster Suspilne.
