Blue Peter On The West & East Coast Mainlines

Hello & Welcome to Harnetty Railways

In this video we see within 24 hours 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley's right hand loco in Locomotive Services Ltd's A2 Pacific 60532 Blue Peter on the West & East Coast Mainlines.

We start at Wigan North Western on the West Coast Mainline as he heads north with support coach from Crewe LSL to The National Railway Museum in York to stable overnight in readiness for the main event the following day.

The run north of York on the East Coast Mainline heading to Scotland was highley anticipated as this was Blue Peter's return to the country for the 1st time since the 1990's.

We head to the next afternoon to Durham station to see Blue Peter head north on the down mainline through the station.

But 1st a quick clip of LSL's class 55 Deltic D9000 Royal Scots Grey head to Carlisle Upperby LSL for a few days after being relived from the A2 at York.

We were a little nervous of the threat of being bold by a Cross Country service bound for Birmingham which was due to leave at the sametime as Blue Peter headed north through Durham & the sun getting on the lens.

Thankfully neither caused a problem & we got a clean shot of 60532 Blue Peter racing through on the down mainline as he heads north with 14 coaches & class 57 diesel in tow.

On the same day of Blue Peter's run we see Ian Riley's black 5 44871 arrive & depart from York station which is were we end this video.
