When Seeds Don't Germinate -- Is It Our Fault?

It's an unusually warm December day in the garden here at Lazy Dog Farm, but it's also a great day for some cool-season succession planting. We have two flats of beautiful broccoli and cauliflower transplants in the greenhouse, and they're ready to go in the ground. Join us as we get two more rows planted so we have a constant supply throughout the winter months.

We'll also be planting more lettuce in the greenhouse so we can have a steady supply of that as well. We do have one variety that didn't germinate well for us last time. Was that our fault, or was the soil temperature not ideal for germination? I guess we'll see as we try to plant them one more time before throwing the seeds in the trash.
