We wanted to share what it took to remove, fix, retool, and reinstall the centerboard on our Pearson 34 sailboat. This was a big part of our sailboat restoration.
Folks are always curious as to what is the centerboard, what is the centerboard for, how does the centerboard work, how does it get attached to your boat and what happens when you centerboard sits around for many years without use or maintenance.
Here you will see our journey and what it took to take our centerboard down, rebuild it and re-install it. What parts we had to have rebuilt; how we redesign the bushing and more.
