Hiking through History - Abandoned Ash Creek Section of the Apache Trail

In this video I hike nearly the entire length of the now abandoned section of the Apache Trail that once carried motorists over Ash Creek. The first part of the old road is driveable with a high clearance 4WD vehicle back to the location of the old Ash Creek bridge. From there you must hike the remaining section of the road. Once you get to the plateau from climbing out of Ash Creek, the road is hard to follow for a bit. It turns south and then east and becomes easier to follow after that. This section of the old road was bypassed in 1961-1962 by the current alignment of the Apache Trail.
