1990 Ford F150 OBS Rough Idle, Fast Idle, Hard Shifting - Fixed for under $1.00

In this episode of Cars With Cory, we work on repairing my 1990 Ford F150 Lariat. Since Ive owned it, this truck has always had a high idle that would bounce around between 900-2000 RPM. It also had very firm shifts into and out of gears while stopped and also while shifting forward gears on the road. This issue was fixed with a single capacitor in the ECM which could be purchased at an electronics supply store for $1.00 or less! This repair applies to many other Ford vehicles of similar model years including the F250, E150, E250, and Bronco. It is easy to diagnose by removing a few bolts and can save hundreds compared to replacing the entire ECM.
