Welcome to Southport race weekend! This video kicks off with fixing a blown exhaust — cutting out restrictive flexis, welding in straight pipe, and getting the car ready for track. Once the car’s back together, it’s straight onto the trailer and off to race day.
From practice sessions to competition heats, you’ll see the ups, downs, and challenges of the weekend. After adjusting settings and tire pressures, the car started to come alive — but fueling issues and that long right-hander nearly cost me an engine with dangerously low oil pressure.
The results? 11th overall, 2nd in class — beaten again by a Cayman GTS Turbo! But the real lesson is about oil control. This is why I’ve been working on a baffled sump build — and over the off-season, you’ll see engine work, rebuilds, and more modifications to come.
