ADHD-Parenting an ADHD Adult

The biggest prolem with being the parent of an ADHD Adult is that you've both grown and changed but the ADHD is still there. ADHD adults stil have all the executive and emotionl difficulties, and of course, the impulsivity . They may or may not have developed compensatory strategies in some of these areas. ADHDers generally have more dificulties with education, jobs, relationships and risk taking. The biggest change over time is that your roles are different. You ae no longer the boss, the manager or the controller. You are now more like a coach. And your child is now an adult. I'll discuss some ways to make things work based on my training and my experiences with my own ADHDers.
