Wild Camping In My Hilux on the Mountains of The Eastern Cape Highlands of South Africa Ep2

Freedom awaits! With the Eastern Cape Highlands ahead of us, attempting the Ben 10 Eco Challenge has been on my wish list for a while and now it was time to actually experience it for myself! After wild camping above Lady Grey, we aired down and hit the trail. We would end up sleeping on the Bastervoetpad Pass, where the wind would make us question everything. The next day we would find respite at the Steepside camp, under a willow tree, with hot water and ablutions.

Adventure is about over coming adversity, and Overlanding is about getting out into the more remote parts of the country to experience some adventure. Facing challenging weather, and setbacks is all part of the process!

The Toyota Hilux has been performing so incredibly well, the Fox suspension and Powerbrake Big Brake Kit really came into their own on this trip! PLUS The incredible canopy setup from Bushtech, actually had so much space, and gave me plenty of access to everything I needed. The rooftop tent from Eezi Awn, just ensured that I had a safe and comfortable nights sleep every night, and it really made the trip a breeze!
