Jorg Jecklin developed the baffled stereo technique in the 1980s in an effort to improve stereo imaging while using omni microphones.
This video demonstrates a commercially produced disk http://www.core-sound.com/jecklin/1.php rather than a home-made version.

This video was shot on a Lumix GH4. Audio during the tech talk was recorded using a Zoom H6. Audio during the performance part was recorded using the KSM141 and Schoeps mics as listed. Both mic arrays were fed into an RME UFX. REAPER was used to record the guitar performance section. All video editing done in Edius.
