Join us for our last three incredible days camping in Chobe Savuti, Botswana! We dive into the heart of the wilderness and get up close with some amazing wildlife. Watch as elephants charge at lions, wild dogs make an appearance, and we spot some stunning cheetahs. Plus, we enjoy the beauty of Botswana’s sunrises and sunsets.
A big shout to Jim Green for helping us ditch our flip-flops, and kitting us out with some amazing new boots.

Top Recommended Safari Gear:
A good pair of Binoculars, and there are many options I use a pair of beat-up Nikons, and the dream is to get a pair of Zeiss as the quality and sharpness are insane. However there are some even cheaper options, but a pair of binoculars are a must.

Another essential is a good multi-tool knife, For me, it is the Leatherman skeletool
but the most useful is probably the Leatherman Wave. Just remember not to pack it in your hand luggage!!!

A camera: your phone is good, but if you have an amazing sighting, you will regret not having a good camera, you don’t need an expensive camera but you do want something with a minimum of a 300mm zoom lens. I use a Canon DSLR, you may think a DSLR is complicated, but if you not a tech person just put it on auto and you will be good.

A rechargeable spotlight :

A headlamp is also very useful when cooking or working around camp at night, especially when you eating dinner and you need to be handsfree, having a headlamp with a red light option is also great as it doesn’t disturb others or animals. https://amzn.to/404rs5v
I have really enjoyed having a trail camera to set up in camp to see the animals that pass through camp, https://amzn.to/4f93ha6
