The halogen bulb is held with a ceramic pillar, i thought it was plastic but no, i measured its power and it was INSTEAD just 25W, so i think they played between consumption and effect, also it appears that there are different powers for this model so the 40W of halogen i read were for a different size, mine is rated for 15W CFL
