9th of December | A Tribute to the Victims of the Crime of Genocide & Raphael Lemkin

[GR] Η 9η Δεκεμβρίου αποτελεί την "Διεθνή Ημέρα Μνήμης και Αξιοπρέπειας των Θυμάτων του Εγκλήματος της Γενοκτονίας και Πρόληψης του Εγκλήματος αυτού". Η Ένωση Ποντιακής Νεολαίας Αττικής αποτίει τον δικό της φόρο τιμής, μέσα από αυτό το βίντεο, και υπερτονίζει την ανάγκη εναντίωσης σε κάθε σύγχρονο καθεστώς καταπίεσης και καταπάτησης των θεμελιωδών ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων. Αποτίει, επιπρόσθετα, φόρο τιμής στον Raphael Lemkin, οι άκοπες προσπάθειες του οποίου οδήγησαν στην υιοθέτηση της "Σύμβασης για την Πρόληψη και Καταστολή του Εγκλήματος της Γενοκτονίας" από την Γενική Συνέλευση των Ηνωμένων Εθνών, στις 9 Δεκεμβρίου 1948.

[EN] 9th of December marks the "International Day of Commemoration and Dignity of the Victims
of the Crime of Genocide and of the Prevention of this Crime". Through this video, we the Pontian Youth Union of Attica seek to pay tribute to all the victims of this heinous crime and emphasize the need to oppose synchronous regimes which constantly violate the fundamental values of humanity. We, also, wish to pay tribute to the memory of Raphael Lemkin, whose tireless efforts led to the adoption of the "Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide" by the General Assembly of the UN, on December 9, 1948.
