When PBS decided to revive the 'Soundstage' television program in 2003, they invited Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers to be among the first bands to open the series. The band wound up playing enough material to fill two hour-long episodes and more. When a DVD of the two episodes came out in 2005, fans were treated to an 'Extras' section that had some -- but unfortunately not all -- of the songs the band performed, which didn't make it onto or air with the two episodes. This performance of "Billy the Kid" comes from that DVD's 'Extras' section. Enjoy!
