Shri Vishnuprasad Hebbar embraced his love for cows through the teachings of his father Shri Vamana Hebbar who worked as temple priest and was a profound devotee of lord Vishnu. His wife Dr. Nagaratna, a doctorate holder from Cambridge University in London and an avid researcher, shares his vision and helped him build Bekal Gokulam Goshala that breeds 9 breeds of Indian cows. She takes care of the cows like her children. For Shri Vishnuprasad Hebbar cows are invaluable assets and caring for them is of utmost priority.
Caretaker Kannan, Subramanyam, Shivaprasad along with many other helpers feed and take care of the cows. Vegetables, medicinal plants and special grasses are grown under organic farming and fed to the cows. In the Goushala, soothing classical music is played all day long and musical sessions by eminent artists are organised as an offering to the holy cows.
Visitors are welcome to spend a day at Goushala, attend pujas, adopt cows and donate for them to generate good energy and prosperity in their lives.
