I wrote this thinking about doing Christmas without Grandpa this year, and without Grandma these last few years. I didn’t want a sad song — I needed something with the joy they brought, the kind of classic Christmas music they would have listened to.

This is a song about them… and about all the grandparents, parents, and family members whose love still fills the room even when their chairs are empty. It’s about the way stories, ornaments, jokes, and traditions carry them forward.

It’s not really about what’s under the tree.
It’s about the love that got us here.
