In this short video I am showing you the difference in oil flow through the lifter before and after we made a small but effective modification. As some of you may already know. The retrofit hydraulic roller lifters that are currently available for our beloved Pontiac's leave a lot to be desired. Because the oil band is not exactly in the correct location for the Pontiac V8 it does not get enough oil. The reason for this is because the manufacturers will use a lifter body they already make that's close , but not exact to build lifters for the Pontiac's. So now that leaves us with a problem that needs solved. Point in hand, noisy hydraulic roller lifters. The modification we done in this video is one we do quite often with our solid roller lifter builds and works very well. By cutting a small groove in the right location we can get more oil to the lifter push rod cup. This will provide constant oil pressure to the lifter and also provide more oil to the rocker arms. Before you go run out and rip out your lifters to make this modification. Make sure and do your home work or have a professional experienced at making this mod.
