Our fourth lecture of the semester, presented by Professor Phil Nicholson. He will discuss the basics of lunar and solar eclipses, how and why they are governed by the ancient "Saros cycle,” the circumstances of April 8’s eclipse, and ways in which eclipses have uncovered solar physics and the history of the Earth-Moon system.
There is no audio from about 15 minutes into the lecture to 30 minutes! We apologize for the audio problems, one of our microphones died in the middle of the lecture and we were unaware for some time. The replacement microphone also has reduced quality, so we again apologize for the inconvenience.
