This calculus tutorial video shows how to evaluate integrals of rational functions, with distinct linear and quadratic factors in the denominator, using partial fraction decomposition. Two methods are discussed in this video: the standard method that is usually discussed in the classroom and a "safe" technique in finding the partial fractions. The other is called a "safe" technique because it will let us avoid making arithmetic errors in determining the coefficients.
