The Union Cabinet approved the 12.9 km Kedarnath ropeway project in March. It is designed to handle 1,800 passengers per hour in each direction, accommodating up to 18,000 passengers daily.This project is set to greatly benefit pilgrims traveling to Kedarnath by offering eco-friendly, comfortable, and rapid transport. It will cut the travel time from the current 8–9 hours to just around 36 minutes.
