Is the London's Superloop actually that Super? - Part 2 Superloop Challenge

Join me for Part 2 of the ultimate London transport challenge - the Superloop around London!

After starting in North Finchley and making it nowhere near halfway around the capital, we are back on the TfL Superloop to see if we can complete the full orbital circle before the buses stop running.

In this episode, we pick up the journey at Thamesmead with the SL3 and tackle the southern and western legs of the loop. It’s not smooth sailing: from massive traffic jams in Croydon and getting kicked off a bus at Heathrow, to torrential rain and diversions, this is the reality of orbital bus travel in London.

I also dive deep into the new electric buses rolling out across the network, including the BYD BD11 and Enviro 400 EV, and ask the big question: Without dedicated bus lanes, is the Superloop actually "super," or just a rebranded traffic jam?

SL3 (Thamesmead to Bromley North): Riding the first fully electric Stagecoach bus of the day. From the concrete of Thamesmead to the leafy suburbs.

SL5 (Bromley to Croydon): A total disaster. We get stuck in gridlock near the "Chinese Garage" for over an hour on the new BYD BD11.

SL7 (Croydon to Heathrow): London’s longest bus route. We encounter the oldest buses, get kicked off halfway, but hit the highest speeds of the day.

SL9 (Heathrow to Harrow): A smooth electric run on the Enviro 400 EV, despite a diversion on the A40.

SL10 (Harrow to North Finchley): The final leg! Completing the loop where it all started.
