PCN PACTV Community News ABC Trash and Recycling Plant Zero Waste Opens in Rochester
Recycling has become a growing international issue with foreign countries no longer purchasing material from the United States and other countries. This change is being felt on a national level and all the way down to individual towns. Fewer and fewer communities and waste companies are able to offer recycling due to the enormous costs and the shrinking market that once purchased the materials. Much recycled material is being dumped along with trash into landfills or being burned. A company in Rochester Mass is just about to open a state of the art zero waste facility that sifts through loads of residential trash to extrapolate recycled material and prepare it for reuse in respective markets. PCN was invited to see this incredible machine in its final building stages. We will bring you a follow up story this summer to see it in action and hear about how the program is working.
