Our Medical School Akwaaba Trip took us to one of the most emotional historical sites in Ghana — Assin Manso Slave River.
In this video, we walk the same path our ancestors once walked, listen to the painful stories of slavery, and stand at the river where they took their last bath before being taken away into slavery. This experience was not just a trip, but a deep reminder of our history, strength, and identity.
This trip was organized for first-year medical students as part of our orientation, to help us understand where we come from before stepping into where we are going.
