The Chinese clothing market in Budapest is an interesting place to visit and shop. It is located in District VIII, a typical residential area of ​​the city, so you can combine a visit with a walk. The large shopping area has two main centers of attraction. These are the Monori Center area and the Chinese Market. They are located nearby, about two kilometers between their extreme points, but they are quite different areas. The Chinese Market or Jozsefvaros (the Hungarian name for this place, based on the common name of the area) is a wholesale market for inexpensive everyday goods, which occupies a huge area of ​​a former tram depot. It has a unique flavor: the sellers are mainly Asian, the goods can be piled up in huge heaps, there are few toilets, they do not care much about cleanliness and this scares off many customers. At the back of the market there are several Chinese cafes and you can also have a snack there. There are two Chinese supermarkets. The advantage of the market is that it is really very big, and if you look, you can find quite high-quality things. Most of the goods are still of low quality, and in general the goods are very monotonous. You can buy something unique and interesting, but it is not easy, and for this you will need to study whole rows of identical shops. The market is not divided into any segments or thematic areas: it is simply rows of wholesale warehouses and stores with numbered lines and pavilions.
