The Italian Grand Prix is Formula 1’s temple of speed, forever tied to Monza and Ferrari’s heritage. Since the very first World Championship race in 1950, the circuit has delivered breathtaking battles under the roar of the tifosi.

Monza’s layout has changed dramatically over the decades. In the 1950s and 60s, the fearsome banked oval was combined with the road course for flat-out slipstream duels, before being abandoned for safety. From the 1970s onward, chicanes and tighter variantes were gradually introduced to slow the cars, giving rise to the modern layout. The only exception came in 1980, when the Italian Grand Prix was held at Imola while Monza underwent renovations, before the event returned permanently the following year. By 2000, the circuit had taken on the shape we know today, and in 2024 a full resurfacing and new kerbs prepared it for a new era of speed.
