I continued deeper into the mountains toward Dry Lake, surrounded by breathtaking views and dramatic weather. Just as I reached camp, clouds spilled over the ridge like mist, wrapping the lake in a dreamlike haze. But the peaceful moment didn't last. A mountain storm rolled in, testing my ultralight shelter-the Hyperlite Mid 1-against powerful wind and snowfall.

Join me as I brave the storm, find water in the backcountry, and reflect on the challenge of pushing forward in unpredictable conditions. This isn't just about backpacking-this is part of a larger mission: to train for a goal years in the making-summiting the Sierra Nevada.
