We head uphill to Santa Teresa to take in panoramic views at Parque das Ruínas, a cultural space where history, art, and sweeping cityscapes collide. From here, we also talk about the origins of Rio’s favelas—how the abolition of slavery in 1888 came without housing, land, or opportunity, shaping communities built through resilience and survival that remain part of Rio’s identity today.

As night falls, we dive into Rio’s legendary music scene with an authentic samba circle at Casarão do Firmino, where rhythm, culture, and joy fill the space and remind you why samba is the heartbeat of the city.
