In most cases with an older heat pump, the suction line accumulator eventually fails due to corrosion. It is normal for the suction lines and components connected to those lines to “sweat” as the unit operates, especially in humid weather. This is why the suction lines are insulated going into the structure. This video just goes over the process used to get a little more life out of the unit so that the costs of unit replacement or repairs can be deferred. (6/13/2015)
