Evictions are troublingly common for America’s poorest families. Matthew Desmond’s research and his new book "Evicted" show that evictions are a cause, not just a condition, of poverty. In this March 3, 2016 presentation, he was joined by a panel of experts, moderated by Bruce Western, that included: William Julius Wilson, Xavier de Souza Briggs, and Jennifer Gonnerman.
Matthew Desmond is the co-director, with Bruce Western, of the Justice and Poverty Project at the Malcolm Wiener Center for Social Policy at Harvard Kennedy School.
