[창작곡] 이종우 - 간절곶, 클라리넷 콰르텟을 위한 크로키 / Ganjeolgot, Croquis for Clarinet Quartet

작곡가는 어느 한낮, 간절곶을 찾았습니다. 언덕 위에 서서 따스하게 쏟아지는 햇살과 시원하게 불어오는 해풍을 온몸으로 맞으며, 고요하면서도 웅장한 간절곶의 풍경에 깊이 매료되었습니다. 해가 서서히 저물며 붉게 타오르는 저녁 하늘은 마치 유럽의 어느 이국적인 해변에 와 있는 듯한 황홀한 착각을 불러일으켰고, 그 장엄한 감동은 마음속에 선명한 그림으로 새겨졌습니다. 이내 깊은 밤이 찾아오고, 밤안개처럼 피어오른 해무가 순식간에 주변을 에워싸며 신비롭고 몽환적인 분위기를 자아냈습니다.

이처럼 시시각각 변화하는 간절곶의 풍경과 자연이 선사하는 다채로운 황홀감을, 작곡가는 마치 눈앞에 펼쳐지는 순간의 스케치(크로키)처럼 클라리넷 콰르텟 악보 위에 간결하고 생동감 있게 담아냈습니다. 클라리넷 특유의 유려하고 표현력 풍부한 음색들은 해변의 햇살, 바람, 석양, 그리고 해무의 모습을 섬세하게 그려내며, 듣는 이로 하여금 간절곶의 시간 여행을 함께하는 듯한 몰입감과 벅찬 감흥을 선사할 것입니다.

The composer visited Ganjeolgot one clear midday. Standing atop the hill, enveloped by the warm sunlight and a refreshing sea breeze, they were deeply captivated by Ganjeolgot's serene yet majestic landscape. As the sun began its descent, painting the evening sky in fiery hues, it evoked the enchanting illusion of being on an exotic European coast, leaving a grand impression vividly etched in their mind. Soon, deep night fell, and sea fog, like a nocturnal mist, swiftly enveloped the surroundings, creating a mysterious and dreamy atmosphere.

Capturing these diverse, ever-changing aspects of Ganjeolgot's scenery and the hourly enchantment bestowed by nature, the composer rendered them onto the clarinet quartet score in a concise and vibrant manner, much like a spontaneous "croquis" – a quick sketch unfolding before one's eyes. The clarinet's uniquely fluid and expressive timbres delicately depict the sunlight on the shore, the wind, the sunset, and the sea fog, offering listeners an immersive experience as if journeying through Ganjeolgot's various moments, filled with profound emotion.
