UK and Canada | Allies Working Together

#Canada is an important ally in science and technology
because that relationship between the #UK and Canada is one of the closest
relationships between any two nations.

#Collaboration
is absolutely vital to scientific research.
And our allies are really important to us, both as collaborators, who we can work with
and also as our peers, who can be our critical friends,
who can look at what we've done and give us honest criticism,
even over our most secret work.

#Science and #technology is very important to #defence within our nations. It is at the forefront of everything
we do in Defence and Security. It is very critical in this environment to stay in front of all the threats our nations can face.

I am looking at what Canada could do in terms of not only in our own facilities,
but where we can enhance further collaboration. And it's been a wonderful day,
spending the time here listening to what work is being done
here.

It's been a tremendous pleasure,
both professionally and personally, to welcome Dr. Komal here to Dstl today. I've been really proud
to show him around your facilities and to have Dstl scientists show
just a small part of the work that they do.

It is important that we stay at the forefront of science and technology in order to provide the modern tools to our military, but also keep thinking and foresighting of what
they will need in future.

This kind of international collaboration
is the bedrock of our security, and it's really great having our allies visit us here, not least so that we can plan out
what kind of collaborations we're going to do in the future
so that we can stay one step ahead of the threat.
