La Mer (Charles Trenet) Instrumental Cover

This cover is requested by my mom 'cause it's one of her favorite songs.

About the song, "La Mer," this is the song that plays during the ending of "Mr Bean's Holiday". Sung by Charles Trenet and recorded in 1946, this original French version is a song about the sea, while the popular English version, "Beyond the Sea" is a love song. There are many versions of both and personally, I love the Robbie Williams version (which is an exact cover of Bobby Darin's version) but I decided to go with the original French version, which is, I think, what my mom would like.

A little bit about my mom, she loves classical music and she somehow exposed me and my siblings to it. I remember growing up in the Philippines in the early 90's, we would go to the CCP Theater for my older sister's Yamaha Electone competitions and I remember watching other kids play pieces like John William's Star Wars Theme, Raiders of the Lost Ark, or Alan Silvestri's Back to the Future Theme. And on other times we would go to the historical Metropolitan Theater and watch my younger sister's ballet group performances of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker or Vivaldi's The Four Seasons. I also remember taking violin lessons when I was in third grade, which unfortunately didn't last very long. But I got my own keyboard in the fourth grade and I absolutely loved it!
