Vancheesa Mangalam, the Travancore state anthem, was recorded by Kamala Krishnamurthy in 1937 at the age of 16 years. It was played every night from Trivandrum (now Thiruvananthapuram) radio station till the state's merger with the Indian Union in 1947.
